The challenge

Stater, a leading mortgage service provider, wanted to better support consumers throughout the duration of their mortgage. The existing app no longer met evolving expectations and failed to deliver the experience Stater envisioned. It was time for a solution that truly helps both lenders and consumers move forward.

Our approach

Stater launched an in-depth study into the needs of all stakeholders: lenders, consumers, and Stater itself. Together, they defined the core principles of the new app: fast, personal, and user-friendly. Stater chose Yellowtail Conclusion as its partner due to its expertise in mortgage processes and positive experiences from previous collaborations.

Through close collaboration, a co-creation approach was adopted, using workshops and interactive sessions to translate the needs of both consumers and lenders into concrete solutions. This co-creation was also reflected in the technical implementation, with Stater managing the back end and Yellowtail handling the app development.

Transition to a native app

One of the most important decisions was the transition from a ‘wrapper’ around the mobile website to a native app. This approach makes the app faster, more stable, and more user-friendly, directly improving the customer experience. Additionally, the app is designed to adapt flexibly to changes in regulations and evolving user needs. The setup also allows Stater’s lenders to easily customize the app’s design to match their own brand identity.

The app is now being used by multiple lenders working with Stater. Users experience a faster and intuitive environment fully tailored to their needs. Key benefits include:
