To me, the AI Excellence Center represents the form of innovation that we at Yellowtail Conclusion are good at: we create space for a new initiative and build it from the ground up. Sometimes with trial and error, but always with the intention of tackling it really well. And that works, also at the AI Excellence Center. The AI Excellence Center consists of AI experts and colleagues from all business lines. This broad approach has a positive effect on the support for AI within the organization and it means that we are constantly looking at what is feasible with AI and what we can take from it to our customers. That already results in interesting cross-pollinations.
Conscious use
Good use of AI starts with the awareness that you have to use it safely and responsibly. For example, you don’t know where an AI system gets the output it delivers from. Is that knowledge correct? If you apply that output somewhere, you are responsible for its accuracy. At the AI Excellence Center, we train all our employees in that awareness. And we show what AI can do and how they can apply it, both internally and towards our customers. Everyone at Yellowtail Conclusion has a basic knowledge of AI. At the same time, within the AI Excellence Center, we are also explicitly concerned with policy and privacy with regard to AI. How do we want to use AI, how do we arrange privacy? We want to be able to make that clear to our customers.
Working more efficiently
In addition, we are working on the development of AI applications within the AI Excellence Center. Internally, we now use AI tools that save time and increase the quality of our work. For example, our consultants use a tool that allows them to easily make their PowerPoint presentations more compact and tighter. That saves a lot of time. Our developers have AI tools that can detect bugs in written code super-fast and that can finish repetitive code. That works very efficiently. Of course, this does not happen all at once; we introduce the tools step by step and in phases. This increases the enthusiasm for working with this type of new tooling.
Human in the loop
We do not believe in replacing employees with AI. Yellowtail Conclusion’s products are far too specific for that. We do believe in AI as a very valuable addition. The combination of human and machine learning, or the Human in the loop principle, makes the application of AI successful within our organization. We notice that our strategy and our customized AI propositions match our customers’ needs well. Think of AI solutions that make manual work redundant, that unlock knowledge for junior employees, for example, and AI tools that can make complex analyses in no time. These solutions are received with loud cheers. That gives us an extra boost to continue with developments in this area and to further integrate AI into our products.
Oil slick
The enthusiasm about AI is spreading like an oil slick. Within Yellowtail Conclusion, people come to me full of energy about the latest developments in AI. That is contagious and inspiring. Customers are enthusiastic, which means that the number of propositions with AI will only increase. And this is just the beginning, I see the AI Excellence Center as a starting point for many more great things. It would not surprise me if AI is an independent business line within the Yellowtail Conclusion ecosystem in the not too distant future, with its own projects and products. I can’t wait!
